BELLY CAST                

 Belly casts

capture those wonderful pregnancy shapes which are so soon forgotten, having a belly cast created during your pregnancy allows you to have an adorable keepsake of those times.  The cast is taken in the privacy of your own home. I come to you. The whole process takes about an hour, give or take, depending on how much clearing up there is as it can be a bit messy but any trace of me being there is all cleaned up before I leave!

A cast can be taken at any time of the pregnancy but to achieve optimum 'shape' 34 - 37 weeks is ideal. Although you can choose whatever at whichever time you want.

The cast is then returned to you in 4 - 6 weeks. You can choose to decorate the cast yourself or I can decorate it for you as you wish.  The belly cast is finished with a ribbon for hanging or just for decoration either way.

 

BABY HAND AND FOOT CASTS

A delightful way to remember those precious moments. An exact plaster replica is created from either single hand or feet or both hands and feet. The process involves a powder called Alginate gel which is non toxic and safe to use with babies, (and anything else as well!) The powder is mixed with water which creates a kind of 'gloop' type mixture, which the hand or foot is then inserted into. This mixture then sets firmly, like firm sponge,  around the hand or foot and at this stage the hand or foot is gently wriggled free and the mold left behind is filled with plaster, creating a replica of whatever has been in the gel.

These are then allowed to set. The firm gel is removed revealing the plaster copy. Once this has dried out it can be finished and painted and framed.

The baby hand and foot casts are returned to you in 4 - 6 weeks, completely finished and ready to display!

 

I also do childrens hand casts using the same process, the casting would be for one hand, the plaster goes up and over the cast forming the base for the cast to stand upright. This is then painted and delivered to you  in 4 - 6 weeks.

 

OUTPRINT

    

 

This is where babies and children (and even adults!) can press their palm or foot into a soft dough type mixture which leaves behind an imprint, This is then filled with a layer of plaster and once set an outprint is then created. This is finished in white with colour added to the palm and foot and then displayed in a frame. These are returned to you in 4 - 6 weeks all ready to display. 

I do travel to you to do whichever casting you choose to have, although travel outwith of Dundee will incur a small mileage charge.
